In western culture, dragons are often thought of as fire-breathing menaces that attack humans.

However, in Chinese culture, the dragon holds an esteemed position. It is a symbol of power, vigor, fortune, and wisdom. Viewed as a celestial and heavenly entity, the Chinese dragon governs natural elements such as the wind and water, and they symbolize connection, transformation, freedom.

Endowed with an inherent sense of courage, persistence, and intelligence, Dragons radiate enthusiasm and confidence like no other. They don't shy away from challenges and are ever-ready to take risks. These traits help them to break free from conventional norms, illuminating the path towards a promising future.

From a health perspective, stay on the move! Just like dragons crave exercise, we should too. Regular sleep and meal patterns are imperative to steer clear of digestive ailments.

On a psychological level, let’s have an honest look at our emotional closets. Can we make space for positive energy?  Letting go of past resentments will benefit our mental, emotional and physical health. Just like wood needs to grow, so can our internal wood energy help us in moving past stagnations.

Finally, when it comes to nutrition, the mantra is to go green. Add more vegetables, any leafy greens, asparagus, broccoli and leeks to your diet. Incorporate sour and fermented food items, apple cider vinegar, fish, or try liver and bone broth.

Being conscious of your physical and mental health is the best way to staying prepared for whatever the dragon year throws our way.
